Hedgerow privacy policy
Last updated 2026-10-18.
Hedgerow is a Shopify app that checks a store’s checkout against shipping rules the merchant chooses. This policy explains what information the app handles when a merchant installs and uses it, and is provided by Knoble Management.
Information Hedgerow stores
- Your store’s Shopify domain and identifiers, and the access token Shopify issues so the app can act for your store: read your products, add or remove the product tags you approve, and manage Hedgerow’s checkout rule.
- Your Hedgerow settings: the product types and rule packs you turn on, lines you switch on or off, your ship-from states and carriers, your answers to plant quarantine questions, your custom rules (tags, collections, places and messages) and your checkout message.
- Product details used to suggest classifications: when you scan your catalogue, Hedgerow reads product titles, product types, tags and collection titles, and stores the suggestions it makes (product ID, title and the words that matched) until you approve or dismiss them.
- Your Hedgerow plan, read from Shopify’s billing system.
- A log of changes and their results, for example when your settings were published to checkout.
Information Hedgerow does not collect
Hedgerow does not collect, receive or store any information about your customers. The checkout rule runs inside Shopify’s checkout: it reads the cart and the shipping address there and returns a message to the buyer, and none of that information is sent to Hedgerow. Hedgerow does not use advertising or analytics trackers, and it does not store the names or email addresses of your staff.
How the information is used
Only to provide the app: to build and publish your checkout rule, suggest product classifications, show your status and plan, and answer your support requests.
Sharing
Hedgerow works through Shopify’s APIs, so Shopify processes this information under its own terms. The app’s database is kept by its hosting provider on Hedgerow’s behalf. Hedgerow does not sell or rent information, and discloses it only where the law requires.
Keeping and deleting information
Information is kept while the app is installed. When you uninstall, Shopify tells Hedgerow, and all of your store’s information is deleted when Shopify sends the store’s data-erasure request, 48 hours after uninstalling, unless you have reinstalled in the meantime. Because Hedgerow holds no customer information, requests from your customers to see or erase their data (which Shopify forwards) find nothing to return or delete.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections and stored in the app’s database, which is protected by credentials only the app holds. Access tokens are used only to act for the store that issued them.
Your choices
You can see and change your settings in the app at any time, and you can ask for a copy or the deletion of your store’s information by contacting patrick@knoblemanagement.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes; a material change is also announced in the app.
